Why it survived
The human brain's weakness for cosmological imagery proved decisive here—turns out people will buy literally any shirt with a galaxy on it if you whisper something sufficiently nihilistic about scale and insignificance. The h-alpha stars read just painterly enough that viewers could pretend they were looking at something technically sophisticated rather than algorithmic star-scattering, which is the core transaction we're facilitating.
